About a month ago I ordered from SheIn for the first time. If you’re unfamiliar with SheIn it is a Chinese-based online store with seriously low prices! It’s actually crazy how cheap things are sold for on this website.
Like most of those Chinese websites not everything sold is perfect, and you kind of don’t know what to expect when ordering. But along the way I have figured out a few tips on how to shop through the website, and come out with pieces you genuinely love.
How To Shop SheIn : Tips + Tricks
Read the reviews. This is a tip a friend passed along to me, and definitely a great one! Under the photos on the website there are reviews from other buyers. You can see if they liked the item, and even sometimes people post photos of them wearing it to really give you a better idea. Reading the reviews will help you determine 1. if the item will fit you 2. if the item has been selling a lot, and is like the photo
Watch YouTube hauls. So, I’m a sucker for hauls and could spend hours watching them, so this is kind of fun for me but it totally helps you out too! Before I placed my order on SheIn I searched “2016 fall Shein clothing haul” on YouTube. I think I watched the first few, and saw what items other people were purchasing and how they worked out. It gave me an idea of what I wanted to purchase, and could see it on a real life person!
Take advantage of the measurements. SheIn gives you exact measurements of all their clothing, which is such an awesome tool! Before ordering an off-the-shoulder dress I pulled out a measuring tape and kind of guestimated what size would work the best for me and my body.
Stay away from no reviews, or no model. There were a few items I had my eye on that I decided not to buy. Some of the pieces on SheIn have no model photos, and 0 reviews. I really like to see how a clothing item looks on a person before purchasing it, no matter what the measurements say.
Look at the model size. If there is a model wearing the item it will tell you what size she’s wearing, and give you her height. I had a size small dress in my cart, totally ready to purchase then something made me double check and I’m so glad I did. The model was wearing a size small and 5’9… I’m 5’2. The dress was right above her knee and fit her perfectly, meaning it would have been a long night gown on me if I were to stick to my original size.
