Happy Monday ! Hope everyone enjoyed their Memorial Day Weekend. How did you celebrate?
Short re-cap on my life: two weekends ago I graduated from Texas State University with a Public Relations major and Business Administration minor. It is still crazy to actually think that I am a college graduate, and now full time adult. College was such an amazing four years, but I am ready to see where life takes me next. Working world here I come (yuck).
My best friend, Rachel, and I decided to book a post-grad girls trip about a month prior to us graduating, and it was seriously such a great decision. We both graduated from college on the same exact day actually, and decided hey lets celebrate being done with school FOREVER !!! So, we did. We booked one night at the Golden Nugget Resort & Casino.
I met Rachel our freshman year at the University of North Texas. We both transferred to different universities the following year, but still kept in touch. Since we don’t really get to see each other as much as we both would like we wanted to plan a mini girls trip because who doesn’t love those?!
Wednesday morning I drove up to her parent’s house and we spent the day laying by the pool and just celebrating being done with 18+ years of school. Rachel found this idea on Tipsy Bartender for a vodka soaked watermelon (like what?!) The original “recipe” calls for 5 bottles of alcohol, which we thought would be a little bit too excessive for us, so we stuck to one girly vodka. It actually turned out really tasty, and was a fun summer treat. Definitely perfect for any outdoor party, or just summertime in general. And in my opinion summer and watermelon just go hand in hand!

The next day we drove to Golden Nugget, and oh my goodness… if you have never been I am telling you to book a trip NOW! Here I’ll make it easy for you (click me)
We checked in on a Thursday because the rooms double during the weekends- so keep that in mind if you’re thinking about staying there. It was my first time staying there, and I was not disappointed! The pool has something for everyone, including a lazy river and a more secluded adult pool. We made a promise that every future girls trip celebration will be at the Nugget from now on.

Neither of us were really interested in the casino, but we still found plenty to do and had so much fun! Unfortunately it was pretty overcast for the majority of the day but we still had fun exploring the pool and just relaxing. After a long sun-less day we grabbed a drink and chips & queso at the Cadillac Mexican Kitchen & Bar.
BEST QUESO EVER. If you are a queso enthusiast like me you know what joy an amazing queso can bring someone. And this big bowl of cheese sure made our day.
Immediately on checking in we spotted a bar we both knew we wanted to try.

The photos really do not do this bar justice. I have been obsessed with all things white lately, and I couldn’t help but be all kind of heart-eyes emoji over this place.
I vlogged !!! Check it out.
xx
