Hi guys, and happy Monday!
This post is going to be a little bit different, and my first ever post about food! I have had this post sitting in my drafts for quite awhile, so I’m really excited to finally be sharing it with you guys.
So quick backstory, I am lactose intolerant… self-diagnosed. Meaning I have never been to a doctor to see if I actually am 100% lactose intolerant but I am like 95% sure I am.
Basically dairy, and I do not get along.
When I first diagnosed myself I was really good about not eating dairy, or taking my lactate pills. If you don’t know anything about lactose intolerance (I know I sure didn’t) there are actually pills you can take before you eat dairy and they help break it down, and it’s supposed to help a bit. So I was cutting out dairy as best as I could: was drinking dairy-free milk, switched over to non-dairy yogurt and was taking the pills when I did eat dairy.
Then college came and everything just went down hill.
Now recently graduated I am really getting into clean eating and exercise and want to take better care of my body!
So starting today I am giving myself a 5-day challenge of completely cutting out dairy. I have slowly been cutting it out, and switching over to dairy- free substitutes but I have been hesitant to make the complete leap. Dairy is literally in everything, you would be so surprised.
Throughout my week I am going to be trying different dairy free options, and I will be working on a post about my experience with a full review of what I liked, and disliked! So be sure to check back on Friday for a detailed post on my week without dairy!
If you have any suggestions or dairy-free substitutes you swear by, please help a sister out! I can use all the help I can get.
Be sure to follow me on Instagram and Pinterest to see everything I’m eating!
xx Jamie
