This year is flying by! How is it already the end of June? June has always been my favorite month of the year, so I’m sad to see it go! But I lovelovelove the Fourth of July! It has always been one of my favorite holidays!
Growing up my dad and I were apart of a group called Indian Princesses that was through the local YMCA. It was basically like girl scouts, but without the cookies and without the moms (so actually nothing like girl scouts ha). Every Fourth of July we got to ride a float throughout the parade in my hometown, and it was so fun! We either rode on the float, or walked the whole parade and handed out candy to everyone. I remember always seeing my mom and sisters on the side and feeling like such a celeb walking with my dad and friends. Today I’m sharing 3 outfit ideas for the Fourth of July!
Then in middle school, and high school I got to walk the parade because I was a cheerleader! We either wore our gameday shirts or our uniforms and walked with all the squads and it was so much fun! My hometown has the big parade, and then there are fireworks put on at one of the high schools!
After graduating high school I always went back to Austin, or San Marcos for the Fourth! This is going to be one of the first times I’m not celebrating in San Marcos and I’m pretty bummed by it, but hoping next year I can make it down there! Floating the river is so much fun on the Fourth of July, and there’s always so many people!
I’ve always loved thinking of outfit ideas for the Fourth! It’s one of those holidays that you usually can whip something together from your closet! Anyone has a pair of denim shorts, or a fun white dress! All you really need is a red, white and blue aspect! I don’t know what my exact plans are yet, but I know I will be wearing this red tank one way or another!
Initially, I had planned on wearing the bandana tied up in my hair, but thought it was so cute as a neck scarf! Festive and trendy: win-win. Thinking about it, I have always worn a bandana as a headband on the fourth! It’s such a cute accessory, but also keeps your hair out of your face during the hot July day!
I’m obsessed with Nicole and Jenna’s outfits too! Jenna’s gingham top (shop: here) is perfect for the fourth, and love her denim shorts!
Nicole’s blouse (shop: here) could be dressed up or down, and I am obsessed with the knot and embroidery details! We actually struggled with the tie before the shoot, and I tried my best to make it look like the model online!
