Well hello there friends! I apologize for how long it has been since I last posted – life has been crazy! I have missed you guys like crazy, and taking a little break away from blogging was not in the plan. Many of you may know that soon after I graduated college I was working at a linen company doing administrative work and handling all of their social media accounts! It was the perfect first “real” job right after graduation. I worked with the sweetest people, and it was such a small company culture which I learned is what I thrived in.
yellow cardigan // velvet tank (similar) // tomgirl denim (wearing 0) // earrings // sock booties
With that being said, I was working part-time trying to find my way and see what career path God had in store for me. No one really prepares you for how tough post-college life can be! If you asked me in college what I wanted to do post-grad I would have told you that I wanted to be either an event/wedding planner, or do something creative with social media and content creation. One of the first interviews I had was a wedding planner assistant position, and at the time I was so bummed I didn’t get the job. It was definitely a God thing because I would have been so miserable in that position and never would have ended up working at House of Hough!
Like I mentioned I was so lucky with my job at HOH and loved everyone there! It really was the perfect job after graduation and gave me a few months to really settle into life after college and moving back to Houston. After lots of prayers, I did eventually decide to leave my job. I took the time off to really focus on my blog, while also applying for other job opportunities. You can probably tell where this post is going…
I GOT A JOB!
I’m not going to spill all of the beans on the exact company I’m working for. I do want to keep myself safe since I am putting my life out on the internet for whoever to read! I hope you guys can understand that. I will tell you how excited I am for this new opportunity and cannot wait to see where it takes me! My work dress code is very cute and trendy, so I won’t be doing any Work Wear Wednesday posts, but would love to hear any suggestions on posts pertaining to the working world!
With that being said, I’m going from blogging full-time to working full-time and my schedule is completely different! This week I am trying to come up with a blogging schedule, and will hopefully soon find a balance between work and blogging! So bear with me friends!
Make sure you are following me on Instagram! I try to post on there 1-2x a day, and it’s a great way to keep up with daily looks and any other life updates!
Congrats on the new job! I love this look!
So happy for you Jamie!!! You are going to do amazing things & I can’t wait to read about this new journey for you! I am also in the work/blog balance act…it’s a fun challenge to say the least and will prob be becoming even more challenging as I might be taking a new position soon. A piece of advice that I have been living by lately that my mentor recently gave me is that sometime you have to say no to the good in order to say yes to the great. Meaning know your end goal and figuring out if your current commitments & activities are helping you achieve that end goal…this season of our lives shouldn’t be full of stress.

Congrats on the job! I will be joining you so soon with the blogging/working full time juggle so as you go if you have any tips you should totally write a post on that! Definitely don’t stress a schedule/routine too much and just post when you can — thats what grace is all about 🙂
Best of luck!

It has definitely been a struggle and I feel like I’m working 80 hour weeks with doing both! But such a good idea for a post, definitely will need to get into a better schedule so I can share some tips!
Congratulations on the new job!! That’s amazing. The work/blogging balance can definitely be tough but I know you’ll figure it all out. Take as much time as you need!
