Favorites from the month of April. Sharing my favorite recipe, tanning product and more | The Blonder Life

Hello there friends, and welcome back! I have been totally slacking on blog posts, so please forgive me! If you didn’t know I am starting my own online boutique so I have been crazy busy with getting everything ready for that! But, more on that later. I am so excited for today’s post! I haven’t done a monthly favorites post in quite some time, so I figured I’d go for it today.Favorites from the month of April. 1. St. Moriz Dark Tanning Lotion

I am so excited to share this product, and have been telling EVERYONE about it! I am that obsessed with it. About two years ago I started trying out self-tanners, and have tried a ton of brands! To this day the St Moriz Lotion in Dark is my all time favorite! My skin is super dry, so if I don’t exfoliate like crazy my tanning products can make me look really dark in some areas. With this product, since it is a lotion I do get a bit more hydration which I need!  It goes on extremely easy, so if you are a newbie to tanning I highly recommend starting with this lotion. It does come in a medium shade as well if you are wanting to try something ligther and more gradual to your skin tone. But, I am pretty white in the winter months and the dark color isn’t too crazy for me!

Since it isn’t gradual and is a normal tanning product you do still need to use some type of mitt. *I learned this the hard way* You can pick one up from Ulta, or order one from Amazon!

Before switching over to the dark tanning lotion I was using St Moriz’ tanning mousse in dark, and before that was using the fast tanning mousse. So, I am a big fan of the brand and recommend any of their products. But, my all-time favorite will forever be the lotion because it is the quickest and easiest to apply. I linked them below if you are an online shopper, but you can also find these products at Ulta!

2. Old Navy

Okay so sharing a whole store as a monthly favorite might be a little bit extreme, but let me explain! Anyone else think of that massive flip-flop wall and the go-to Fourth of July tee’s when you hear Old Navy? I don’t blame you, it’s an American household staple. For the longest time, I put Old Navy in a category that was made for elementary kids and anyone wearing cargo shorts. But NOW it is my go-to for denim, dresses, sandals, shorts, tops… you get it. It’s my go-to for everything I would ever need!

Dramatic? Maybe.
Obsessed? Heck yes.

If you were like me and were straying away from Old Navy I highly recommend taking a look at their website, and venturing into a store! My April bank statement is basically Old Navy’s number one fan.

The dress that I’m wearing from this post is from Old Navy, obviously. I grabbed it in a regular size because my store didn’t have the petite version #impatient. But if you are around my height (I’m 5’3) I would grab the petite.

3. Sambazon Acai Bowls

Where are all of my acai bowl obsessed people?! YOU ARE NOT ALONE.

They are my all-time favorite snack/meal/dessert you name it. But, they can be a bit pricey and unless you live in a big and trendy city most places don’t offer them. About a year ago I found out about these packets of frozen acai from Aspyn Ovard in one of her vlogs. I picked them up in my grocery store (I buy them at HEB) and decided to give them a try. After a few attempts and coming out with a very liquid mess I gave up.

Until.. about 4 months ago.

I stumbled upon another YouTube video about acai bowls, and saw that they put barely any liquid and a ton of fruit to make it the perfect thick consistency! So, I have finally mastered the at-home acai bowl and wanted to share my recipe with you guys!

NOTE: I don’t use exact measurements with anything.

  • Run the acai packet under warm water for a few seconds until the pieces are pretty much broken up. I will kind of mush it around with my fingers to break it up.
  • Pour the acai packet into your blender. I use my Magic Bullet, but you can also use a food processor as well!
  • Add about a 1/2 cup or so of your preferred liquid. I use coconut or almond milk. Less is more on this step, because it’s easier to add more liquid in the end than take it out. If you add too much you will end up with more of a thin smoothie consistency.
  • Add your favorite frozen fruit, spinach, protein powder, etc. This part always changes for me, but I usually add frozen mango or frozen bananas! I stick to frozen fruit because it is the easiest way to make your bowl thick.
  • Blend for just a few minutes. I usually blend for about 30-40 second intervals and then take it off and stir it around and see how thick it is.
  • Pour into a bowl and add your favorite toppings!
  • EXTRA STEP: Freeze your bowl before! Your acai bowl blend might melt pretty quickly (which is fine for me because I devour it HA) so the cold bowl will help slow the process!

I’ve been loving homemade acas bowls this month, too! My go-to recipe will be on my April Favorites at the end of the month :] I typically add 1/4 cup of water, 1/2 a banana, and mixed fruit to mine to get a good consistency!
