New Series Alert | Bright & Bold

Good morning friends! So excited for today’s blog post because it is going to be a fun one!

As you can tell from the title I am introducing a new monthly series: Bright and Bold! This series is with my friend Morgan Knowles from Sunday Style Report. Both Morgan and I have always had super similar styles, but definitely with our own twist. Hence the title, bright and bold. Can you guess which one I am?! Haha. But, we both love our casual style and we both share a love for a lot of the same stores so this series is going to be so fun! Morgan loves her neutrals and has such a BOLD style. She definitely gravitates towards the edgy sides of thing, and she always rocks the new trends! I on the other hand love color, as you know! I love yellow, pink and all the girly colorful pieces!

Each month we both will be styling either the same item or the same trend to our individual style! So with that, you get to see a fun new trend, or trendy item styled two different ways! In addition to a monthly blog post we both will be sharing a try on session on Instagram at our current favorite retailer! We already have a lot planned for this series, and we are both so excited for it!

This months trend: BIKER SHORTS

I styled my biker shorts more girly, and colorful! I brought in my girly colorful style with gold jewelry, a neon band tee, and some classic white platform sneakers!

When we decided this month’s trend I’ll admit I was a bit hesitant. I have seen biker shorts around everywhere on Instagram, but decided early on that I was “NEVER” going to try this trend. Haha, oops. It just was not a trend I could get behind and I couldn’t see them being flattering on my 5’3 height. But, I pushed myself out of my comfort zone and went for it!

Sometimes it’s fun to try a new trend, and get out of your normal style zone.

I found both my shorts (xs) and band tee (small) at American Eagle! I honestly haven’t shopped there in years it felt like, but they have been killing it lately. I want to stock up on their graphic tee’s because they are SO STINKING SOFT! I never wanted to take this tee off. It definitely has that lived-in feel.

I love that these biker shorts are acid wash, and not just plain black. They are more everyday, and much more of my casual style. I cannot wait to style these a ton more ways!
